Marketing Game Manager

Live the Unwritten

The Wizarding World franchise has been beloved by millions of fans for over 20 years. Finding the overlap between what wizarding world fans loved about the franchise and what traditional gamers love in their games allowed us to approach the campaign with a focused, common ground perspective.

Magic in the Music

The music in the Harry Potter films are some of the most iconic tracks in music history. In order for a AAA game set in that world to be successful, it had to take the music seriously. Pair that with gamers becoming more and more keen to hear epic soundtracks, we found ourselves in a perfect sweet spot to show that Hogwarts Legacy was taking every detail seriously, including the music. With almost every asset we put out, we strived to include never-before-heard music from the game.

Fulfilling the Fantasy

Whether it be their Hogwarts House, what type of witch or wizard they are, or what their favorite class would be, wizarding world fans have fantasied for years about what their experience in the halls of Hogwarts would be. As marketing, we had to show the fans the attention to detail every single corner of the game possessed.

Humble Beginnings

With Hogwarts Legacy being the first AAA game from Avalanche Software, it was important not to lose the small town feel. Whenever possible we include Hogwarts Legacy content creators in the conversation and spoke directly to the fans.

An Editorial Approach

Today’s consumer not only cares about the final product, but the company of where that product came from. Being as transparent as possible with our players was a goal from day one. In order to achieve that while still providing marketing asset that help push units, we embraced an editorial approach. Avalanche Software being a triple AAA developer shouldn’t hinder having fun with your audience and sometimes being dumb. This allowed us to talk with the community instead of at them. Creating content you would normally see an outlet or content creator and putting it on official channels allowed us to show the authentic, human side of Avalanche.
